AAC iPad Loans

As of March 12, 2020 the Vermont Assistive Technology Program is temporarily suspending all equipment loans to protect Vermonters from the COVID-19 virus. The suspending of loans includes our Burlington, Waterbury, Castleton, Rutland, and White River Junction Tryout Centers. We will post an update once we resume our equipment loans.

We provide 30-day iPad loans to Speech and Language Pathologists (SLP’s) to conduct Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) device trials.

To request an iPad for a 30-day trial, please complete the AAC iPad Loan Form.

Please be sure to select the following items on the iPad loan form:

Vermont Medicaid funds iOS devices (iPods/iPads/iPad Minis), as AAC devices. For Medicaid to fund an iOS tool as a communication device, an SLP, who is a Medicaid provider, must conduct a 30-day trial and submit the appropriate paperwork with the Department of Vermont Health Access. To see the procedures and paperwork that Medicaid requires, please visit the Department of Vermont Health Access’s complete packet on Augmentative Communication
