Purpose
To advise the State regarding the Assistive Technology Act federal grant. Council members provide input and perspective including planning, implementation and evaluation of statewide assistive technology (AT) activities.
Who Are Council Members?
They are volunteers comprised of individuals with disabilities who use AT, family members or guardians of individuals who use AT, and business representatives and agency representatives concerned with advancing the use of AT.
Primary Responsibilities of the Advisory Council
Advisory Council members are ‘ambassadors’ of the State AT Program. They promote the use of assistive technology through awareness, advocacy and education. Members attend quarterly meetings (in person or by phone) and actively participate in planning, implementation and evaluation of activities, including the overall vision of the Vermont Assistive Technology Program.
Frequency of Meetings
Meetings are quarterly, the last Wednesday of the month from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. March, June, September and December. Required attendance for at least two meetings per year.
Terms
Council Members serve three-year terms and may seek re-election at the end of each term.

Please complete the VT AT Program Advisory Council Membership Request Form provided through the link below. The completed form will be submitted electronically to the the Director of the AT Council and considered by Council Members. You may be asked for additional information or an interview.
